Addu Asseyri Tourism Development Plan was officially launched last week, the goal of which is to develop and present Addu City with a specialized tourism initiative.
A full situational analysis study is included with this five-year destination development strategy. The strategy has been designed with the dual goals of boosting tourism in the area and significantly boosting Addu City’s local economy.
In the first year of presidency, the plan calls for the construction of 6000 tourist beds, 10,000 new jobs, the revitalization of Shangri-La operations, and the installation of a seaplane hub. With these programs in place, Addu City will become a bustling tourism destination with unmatched potential for development and success.
The plan also describes a number of other improvements, including the establishment of a wellness center, a marine protected area, a cultural town, and a hospitality school.
