The number of tourist arrivals to the Maldives so far this year has surpassed 400,000 according to the weekly statistics released by the Ministry of Tourism.
According to the statistics, Maldives recorded a total of 403,948 arrivals as of 21st February 2024, which is a 15.3% increase compared to the same period the previous year. The daily average of tourist arrivals is 6,847 while tourists stay in the Maldives for an average of 7.8 days this year.
Currently, the largest market for tourists arriving in the Maldives is China with 53,410 arrivals. The second largest market is Russia with 39,188 arrivals whereas Italy stands at #3 with 38,454 arrivals.
