The Maldives Monetary Authority (MMA) has extended the submission deadline for the MMA FinLit Fest – Money Matters Art Competition to 15 November 2026, giving young students across the country additional time to express their creativity while exploring important ideas about money and finance.
The competition is open to students in Grades 5 to 9 throughout the Maldives and encourages participants to transform their understanding of financial matters into engaging and imaginative artwork. By combining creativity with financial awareness, the initiative offers young people an opportunity to think more deeply about how money influences everyday life, future opportunities and responsible decision-making.
The new submission deadline is 15 November 2026 at 23:59 Maldives Time. Participants can compete for cash prizes of up to MVR 3,000, providing further encouragement for students to showcase their artistic talent and original ideas.
The Money Matters Art Competition forms part of broader efforts to strengthen financial literacy among younger generations in the Maldives. Such initiatives support the Government’s wider focus on developing informed, capable and financially aware citizens who are better prepared to make responsible choices as they progress through education and into adulthood.
Interested students are encouraged to review the official Participant Guidebook and submission requirements available through the competition’s QR code and complete their entries before the revised deadline.
With the message “See Money. Imagine Possibilities,” the competition invites young Maldivians to look beyond numbers and explore finance through creativity, imagination and fresh perspectives.
