The Maldives is strengthening its presence in the global travel market at World Travel Market (WTM) London 2026, with a 161-member delegation representing the country’s diverse and expanding tourism industry.
Held from 3 to 5 November at ExCeL London, WTM London is regarded as one of the world’s largest and most influential travel trade exhibitions, bringing together tourism authorities, destination marketers, travel professionals, investors and industry leaders from major international markets.
The Maldivian delegation includes 136 participants from 62 tourism companies, representing resorts, hotels, airlines, tour operators and other tourism-related businesses. Their participation provides an important platform to connect with European travel partners, strengthen existing commercial relationships and identify new opportunities ahead of the coming tourism year.
For Maldivian resorts in particular, WTM London offers valuable access to tour operators, travel advisors and distribution partners who play a significant role in attracting visitors from Europe. The event allows resorts to showcase the Maldives’ distinctive hospitality offering, including its private island experiences, luxury villas, pristine beaches, exceptional marine environment and increasingly diverse range of accommodation and leisure experiences.
Industry participants have highlighted the exhibition as an important opportunity to engage directly with international partners, explore potential collaborations and discuss emerging travel trends. The event also enables businesses to reinforce long-standing partnerships while preparing new promotional and commercial strategies for the year ahead.
Beyond individual business promotion, the Maldives is being presented collectively as one of the world’s most desirable island destinations. Its strong participation at WTM London reflects continued efforts by the Government and tourism industry to maintain the country’s international visibility, diversify source markets and strengthen the long-term competitiveness of the Maldives tourism sector.
With its globally recognised resort portfolio, distinctive natural environment and established reputation for high-quality hospitality, the Maldives continues to attract strong interest from international travellers and travel trade partners. Participation at WTM London 2026 is expected to further enhance that position while opening new opportunities for Maldivian tourism businesses across the European market.
