Maxx Royal Resorts is preparing to expand its hospitality portfolio beyond Türkiye with the opening of Maxx Royal Maldives in autumn 2027, introducing the luxury brand to one of the world’s most prominent island tourism destinations.

Situated in Kaafu Atoll, the resort will be accessible through an approximately 30-minute speedboat journey from Velana International Airport, offering convenient connections for international travellers arriving in the Maldives. The development will extend across a collection of interconnected islands featuring guest accommodation, dining venues, social spaces and private facilities designed to provide both accessibility and seclusion.

Maxx Royal Maldives will offer a selection of overwater and garden villas, with every unit featuring a private pool. The accommodation portfolio will also include spacious multi-bedroom villas intended for families, groups of friends and guests seeking extended stays with greater privacy and comfort.

A limited number of villas positioned at the secluded end of the development will form an exclusive private enclave. The area will feature its own beach, dedicated wellness facilities and a specialised service team, providing guests with a highly personalised resort experience in a more private setting.

Guests staying on Thari Island will receive access to Kiaya, the resort’s dedicated butler service. The service is expected to assist with daily arrangements, guest preferences and personalised experiences throughout each stay, supporting Max guest preferences and personalised experiences throughout each stay, supporting Maxx Royal’s emphasis on attentive hospitality and individualised service.

The resort will further enhance the guest experience through its Maxx Assistant programme, which will provide pre-arrival concierge assistance. The programme will coordinate dining reservations, personal preferences and other important elements of a guest’s holiday before arrival, allowing the resort team to prepare a more seamless and customised stay.

Dining will be a central component of the Maxx Royal Maldives experience, with the resort planning to introduce several internationally recognised restaurant concepts. The culinary portfolio will include Leña by renowned Spanish chef Dani García and Spago by internationally acclaimed chef Wolfgang Puck.

Additional dining venues will present a broad selection of global cuisines, including Latin American, Persian, Japanese and Turkish specialities. Concepts expected to operate at the resort include Casa Sol and Caviar Kaspia, alongside all-day venues such as Twenty4, a poolside dining venue and Le Melange & Chocolatier by Maxx Royal.

The variety of restaurants is expected to position the resort as a significant culinary destination within the Maldives, offering guests a combination of internationally recognised concepts, diverse regional flavours and relaxed all-day dining experiences across the interconnected islands.

Families travelling with children and teenagers will be supported through dedicated facilities including Maxxi Land and the Young Royals Club. The programmes will provide age-appropriate activities and recreational experiences for younger guests, enabling families to enjoy a balanced holiday with opportunities for shared experiences as well as individually tailored activities.

Environmental responsibility will also form part of the resort’s development and operations. Maxx Royal Maldives plans to establish a Marine Biology Centre to support marine research, environmental education and awareness of the ecosystems surrounding the resort.

The property also intends to introduce a Manta Protection Programme focused on supporting the conservation of manta rays and their marine habitats. These initiatives are expected to contribute to wider efforts to safeguard the Maldives’ marine biodiversity while reducing the resort’s environmental impact on the surrounding ecosystem.

The development of Maxx Royal Maldives reflects the continued confidence of international hospitality brands in the strength and long-term potential of the Maldivian tourism industry. With its private-pool villas, international dining concepts, personalised services, family facilities and marine conservation initiatives, the resort is expected to further diversify the country’s luxury tourism offering.

The opening will represent Maxx Royal Resorts’ first property outside Türkiye, extending the brand’s international presence while adding another premium hospitality name to the Maldives’ globally recognised luxury resort market.
