In celebration of its 35th year of delivering exceptional island hospitality, Sun Siyam has launched a bold rebranding that honours its Maldivian roots while embracing the evolving desires of the modern traveller. This milestone transformation sees the hospitality group unify all five of its resorts in the Maldives and its property in Sri Lanka under a new umbrella brand, The House of Siyam, positioning itself as one of the most culturally connected resort operators in the country.
The refreshed identity is built around the guiding philosophy: The Home of the Maldivian Spirit. More than just a cosmetic change, this evolution captures the emotional essence of the Maldivian experience, warm, soulful, and steeped in heritage. The change also brings a streamlined guest experience through new Signature Experiences, tailored membership benefits via the Siyam Rewards program, and a restructured portfolio divided into three curated collections: Luxury, Privé, and Lifestyle.
The Luxury Collection, spearheaded by the flagship resort Sun Siyam Iru Fushi, is designed for discerning travellers seeking elevated exclusivity. The Privé Collection, which includes Sun Siyam Iru Veli, Sun Siyam Vilu Reef, and Sun Siyam Pasikudah in Sri Lanka, focuses on privacy and bespoke comfort. For guests craving energy and excitement, the Lifestyle Collection features Sun Siyam Olhuveli and the expansive Siyam World, renowned for its diverse range of water sports and activities.
Central to the brand refresh is the unveiling of immersive Signature Experiences that redefine what it means to stay at a luxury resort in the Maldives. These offerings go far beyond the villa and beach to reflect authentic local life and imagination. Highlights include:
-
Maldivian Roots: A weekly cultural and culinary journey that showcases traditional island life.
-
Insta Villa: The Maldives’ first overwater photo studio, designed for unforgettable travel photography.
-
Sun Siyam Beach Club: A laid-back coastal venue offering curated music, drinks, and events.
-
Plant Based Bliss, Wow Welcome rituals, Hidden Treasure Chests, and Moonlit Cinemas also enrich the experiential offerings, catering to both romance and family travel segments.
To reward loyal guests, Siyam Rewards, a new digital membership program, provides customised itineraries, room upgrades, and even options for carbon offsetting. Members automatically earn benefits from their first stay, and every booking contributes to the group’s Sun Siyam Care sustainability program, which supports marine conservation and community development projects across the islands.
Speaking on the occasion, Ahmed Siyam Mohamed, Founder, Owner & Managing Director of Sun Siyam, reflected:
“When we founded Sun Siyam in 1990 and opened our first resort in 1998, the goal was to share the warmth of our islands and people with the world. This transformation carries that same spirit while allowing us to evolve for the new generation of free-spirited travellers.”
Deepak Booneady, CEO of Sun Siyam Resorts, added:
“This rebrand is about experience, not just aesthetics. We’re deepening the guest connection with culturally inspired and purpose-driven hospitality. Combined with our generous premium all-inclusive offerings and wide villa selection, Sun Siyam is redefining the future of island travel.”
The group’s newly redesigned website, sunsiyam.com, brings this reimagined brand identity to life. The interface reflects both the vibrancy of Maldivian culture and a modern user experience, streamlining the way international guests plan their island getaways.
This comprehensive brand overhaul was shaped by several leading industry collaborators. JHAGGER&CO acted as brand advisors, while the interior restyling was led by StudioSixty7, under the direction of Lee McNichol and Jose Rivero. Maldives hospitality veteran Dominik Ruhl contributed to enhancing operational standards and guest experiences. The transformation was executed by the Sun Siyam operations team, including General Managers, Resort Managers, and marketing and PR specialists—coordinated by Abdulla Thamheed, Vice President of Operations.
Through this transformation, Sun Siyam not only honours its Maldivian heritage but also introduces a contemporary edge that sets the stage for a refreshed era of island luxury. For tourists seeking an immersive, authentic, and rewarding Maldivian escape, the House of Siyam stands ready to welcome them home.
