Guests seeking serenity, purpose, and reconnection will find a unique wellness escape at Milaidhoo this 14th June 2025 as the resort marks Global Wellness Day with a thoughtfully curated programme rooted in its signature philosophy of ‘slow living’. Nestled in the heart of the Baa Atoll UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, this boutique island resort offers more than luxury, it is a sanctuary for mindful rejuvenation.

Under the global theme #ReconnectMagenta, Milaidhoo’s experiences are designed to foster deep connections: with oneself, with others, and with the natural world. The day’s programme blends mindfulness, movement, conservation, and nourishment in one of the most peaceful environments on Earth.

The day begins at 8:00 a.m. with a soul-awakening dynamic cleansing and yoga nidra session on a secluded sandbank. Surrounded by the vast horizon of the Indian Ocean, guests are guided to silence the distractions of everyday life and realign with their inner rhythm, setting a powerful tone for reflection and presence.

Later in the morning, at 11:00 a.m., guests are invited to take part in a coral plantation activity led by Milaidhoo’s resident marine biologist at the Ocean Stories Aquatic Centre. This hands-on conservation initiative not only contributes to reef restoration but also creates a meaningful link between guests and the vibrant marine ecosystem that surrounds the island.

In the afternoon, from 16:00 to 17:00, the programme continues with a guided mindful walking journey around the island. Each barefoot step on warm sand and through shaded jungle paths is an invitation to slow down, observe, and reconnect with nature’s subtle rhythms, an exercise in intentional presence and inner calm.

Beyond its wellness day itinerary, Milaidhoo’s everyday experience is imbued with its commitment to holistic wellbeing. From barefoot luxury and private sanctuaries to the soothing sounds of waves and birdsong, every detail is designed to help guests unwind and return to their natural pace.

Food at Milaidhoo is also wellness-focused, reflecting the island’s ethos of nourishment and vitality. Guests can savour plant-based dishes freshly harvested from the Chef’s Garden, enjoy seafood caught in local waters, or opt for personalised menus that align with their health goals, ensuring both body and soul are well fed.

Speaking on the occasion, Paul van Frank, General Manager of Milaidhoo, noted:

“Our wellness ethos embraces the art of slowing down and living in the moment. Global Wellness Day is an opportunity to remind guests of the power of reconnecting with themselves, with each other, and with the beautiful world around them.”

In a time where meaningful connection is more sought-after than ever, Milaidhoo offers a tranquil setting where every experience from conservation to cuisine becomes an opportunity to reconnect and rediscover balance.
