Visit Maldives delivered a standout tourism showcase during the Arabian Travel Market (ATM) 2025 with the hosting of ‘Maldivian Evening’ at the Theatre of Digital Art (TODA) in Dubai. Designed to immerse attendees in the sights, sounds, and soul of the Maldives, the event offered a rich cultural journey through storytelling, visual arts, cuisine, and music reaffirming the country’s place among the world’s most sought-after experiential travel destinations.
Held alongside ATM 2025, the event welcomed an exclusive guest list including Honourable Minister of Tourism and Environment, Mr. Thoriq Ibrahim, as well as tourism industry professionals, media representatives, influencers, VIPs, and government stakeholders. Guests were greeted on a Maldivian-themed red carpet, then guided through personalised tours of TODA’s interactive spaces, setting the tone for a sensory-rich evening inspired by the Maldives’ culture and natural beauty.
In his opening address, Minister Thoriq spoke about the Maldives’ unique approach to hospitality. “The true Maldivian experience begins and ends with our people and our commitment to preserving the natural environment. Our connection to guests is personal and heartfelt hospitality is at the core of our identity,” he noted.

The evening’s program featured a curated mix of cinematic, artistic, and culinary experiences. Highlights included the premiere of the short film “Dhivehi Dreams”, a live theatrical performance and culinary presentation of the famed Maldivian legend “Dhon Hiyala & Alifulhu”, and a fashion show blending traditional attire with modern design. Live musical performances, traditional dances, and a buffet of Maldivian fusion cuisine added depth to the evening’s cultural showcase.
Interactive zones allowed guests to engage directly with Maldivian heritage through 360° projections, virtual reality journeys into coral ecosystems, and live displays of traditional crafts. One of the most talked-about segments was the “Synergy of Art and Sound”, where celebrated local artist Raappe created a painting in real time, accompanied by dynamic live music.
Closing the evening on a high note was a performance by Skyrock, a popular Maldivian band that blended local influences with global rhythms, energizing the crowd and leaving a lasting impression.
Ibrahim Shiuree, CEO and Managing Director of MMPRC (Visit Maldives), highlighted the strategic value of the event: “Maldivian Evening 2025 has enabled us to present our culture in a new and compelling way. By inviting the world to experience the Maldives beyond its resorts, we’re deepening the global appreciation of our identity as a destination rooted in people, creativity, and heritage.”
This showcase forms part of Visit Maldives’ ongoing efforts to enhance destination marketing through immersive storytelling and experiential outreach. As ATM 2025 continues to serve as the Maldives’ flagship international tourism event, Maldivian Evening underscored the country’s commitment to authentic engagement, sustainable tourism, and cultural exchange—especially within the growing Middle Eastern market.
