The National Hotels and Guesthouses Association of Maldives (NHGAM) has launched the latest edition of its flagship publication, I AM Maldives 2025, at the Arabian Travel Market (ATM) in Dubai. The launch was officiated by Minister of Tourism and Environment Thoriq Ibrahim, together with MMPRC CEO and Managing Director Ibrahim Shiuree and NHGAM President Abdulla Nasheed.

Now in its second year, I AM Maldives has emerged as a dedicated platform promoting community-led tourism and the expanding network of local guesthouses and hotels across the Maldives. The 2025 edition is built around the themes of Culture, Community, and Connection, offering readers a curated look into the authentic side of Maldivian travel experiences.

This year’s publication places a strong emphasis on local traditions, sustainable tourism, and immersive island life, showcasing how community-based operators across the atolls are enriching the visitor experience. Alongside compelling travel stories and cultural narratives, the magazine profiles a wide range of locally-owned guesthouses and boutique hotels, helping them gain greater international exposure.

Originally introduced in 2024, I AM Maldives has quickly become a valuable promotional tool for the Maldives’ rapidly growing guesthouse tourism sector. By amplifying the voices of smaller hospitality providers, the magazine contributes to increased occupancy, targeted marketing, and broader recognition at home and abroad.

The 2025 edition will be distributed throughout NHGAM member islands, and will also feature prominently in upcoming international roadshows, tourism expos, and global travel fairs in collaboration with the Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC).

NHGAM President Abdulla Nasheed expressed appreciation to all partners and sponsors who contributed to the success of this edition. “This publication continues to tell the story of real Maldivian hospitality from the lived experiences of our island communities to the services offered by our guesthouses. It’s about sharing what makes the Maldives truly special,” he said.

With continued support from the government and tourism industry stakeholders, I AM Maldives 2025 is set to further elevate the Maldives’ presence on the global stage as a destination that offers not only luxury but also meaningful and authentic travel experiences rooted in culture and community.
