Addu City is taking a significant step in expanding its tourism infrastructure with a new investment opportunity for a 45-room city hotel in Feydhoo. The Addu City Council has officially invited investors to participate in this project, which is part of the city’s broader initiative to enhance tourism and drive economic growth in the southern Maldives.
The proposed hotel will be developed in the Dhigihera Tourism Zone (S4) on newly reclaimed land, strategically located on the western side of Feydhoo, opposite Savaaheli Island and just two kilometers from Addu International Airport. This prime location offers convenient access for both international travelers and domestic tourists seeking quality accommodation near the city’s key attractions.
Investors interested in the project can obtain the necessary bidding documents from the Addu City Council between 9:00 AM and 1:00 PM, from March 9 to March 19, 2025. The council has allocated a 16,000-square-foot land plot for the hotel, leased for 50 years within a 3.2-hectare beachfront area designated for guesthouses, hotels, and tourism-related services.
The initiative aligns with Addu City’s long-term strategy to foster economic sustainability by creating employment opportunities and attracting private sector investments. The project is expected to boost local businesses, provide job opportunities for youth, and contribute to the city’s goal of becoming a thriving tourism hub.
Currently, Addu City has three operational resorts and several guesthouses, with ambitious plans to expand its tourism sector further. Major ongoing projects include the Hankede Integrated Tourism Project one of the most extensive tourism initiatives in the region and additional developments on reclaimed islands dedicated to tourism activities. A coastal tourism project is also in the pipeline, reinforcing Addu’s commitment to sustainable tourism growth.
With strong government support, strategic location, and promising investment prospects, the Feydhoo city hotel project represents a lucrative opportunity for investors looking to be part of Addu City’s evolving tourism landscape.
