Coco Bodu Hithi, part of Coco Collection, has been awarded Best Commitment to Sustainability at the Condé Nast Johansens Awards for Excellence 2027 in the Africa, Asia & Middle East region, marking the resort’s third consecutive year of recognition by the prestigious international hospitality awards.

The latest achievement follows the resort’s Best Service award in 2025 and Best Waterside Hotel recognition in 2026, highlighting the consistency of Coco Bodu Hithi across different areas of hospitality. The three consecutive honours reflect the dedication of the resort’s team, its personalised approach to guest experiences and its growing focus on responsible tourism in one of the world’s most environmentally sensitive destinations.

Located in North Malé Atoll, Coco Bodu Hithi is approximately 35 minutes by speedboat from Velana International Airport, offering travellers convenient access while retaining the privacy and tranquility of a secluded Maldivian island. Surrounded by turquoise waters, white-sand beaches and lush tropical vegetation, the resort features 100 villas, each offering a private pool and an intimate setting designed around the natural beauty of the island.

Environmental responsibility forms an important part of daily operations at Coco Bodu Hithi. The resort has introduced a range of initiatives including coral restoration programmes, the elimination of single-use plastics, in-house water production and energy-saving measures aimed at reducing its environmental footprint. Guests are also encouraged to become part of these efforts through marine conservation experiences, educational sessions and island clean-up activities, creating opportunities to better understand and appreciate the fragile marine ecosystem of the Maldives.

“We are grateful to receive this recognition, marking our third consecutive year at the Condé Nast Johansens Awards. It reflects our team’s dedication and the meaningful steps we continue to take towards protecting our island. Sustainability is an ongoing journey, and we remain committed to learning, improving and making a positive difference,” said Mohamed Sobe, General Manager of Coco Bodu Hithi.

The Condé Nast Johansens Awards for Excellence recognise outstanding hotels and resorts around the world and are regarded as an established mark of quality among international travellers and travel professionals. For Coco Bodu Hithi and Coco Collection, the latest award further strengthens their position within the Maldives’ premium hospitality sector while supporting the country’s wider emphasis on sustainable tourism, environmental protection and high-quality visitor experiences.

The recognition also reinforces the Maldives’ reputation as a destination where luxury tourism can continue to develop alongside conservation and responsible resort management. Through properties such as Coco Bodu Hithi, the country’s tourism industry continues to showcase how distinctive island experiences, Maldivian hospitality and environmental stewardship can be brought together for travellers from across the world.

Guests planning a stay at Coco Bodu Hithi can also explore the resort’s Double 11 offer and seasonal Coco Festive Celebration, with further information available through Coco Collection’s reservations channels.
