Maldives Expo 2026 is set to become the largest exhibition ever held in the country, with a substantial increase in exhibitors, products and international participation reflecting the Government’s continued efforts to strengthen entrepreneurship, trade and opportunities for local businesses.

Minister of Economic Development, Transport and Trade Mohamed Saeed announced that this year’s edition will be significantly expanded compared with previous exhibitions. Maldives Expo 2026, organised by Business Center Corporation Limited (BCC) in collaboration with the Ministry of Economic Development, Transport and Trade, is scheduled to take place from 25 October to 2 November 2026.

Speaking at a press conference held at the President’s Office, Minister Saeed said exhibitor participation has increased by 225 percent compared with last year. A total of 780 exhibitors are expected to participate this year, compared with 240 at the previous edition.

The number of products showcased at the exhibition will also double, increasing from approximately 2,400 last year to 4,800 this year. The expanded participation is expected to provide businesses, entrepreneurs and emerging enterprises with greater opportunities to introduce their products, develop commercial connections and reach a wider domestic and international audience.

Maldives Expo 2026 will comprise seven districts, with two new areas — the Visitor Economy District and the International District — being introduced as part of this year’s expansion. The addition of these districts is expected to broaden the scope of the exhibition and strengthen its role as a platform connecting local enterprises with key sectors of the Maldivian economy and international markets.

Ten islands will participate in the Visitor Economy District, where participants will showcase their offerings within a competitive setting. The district is expected to highlight the economic potential of island communities while creating greater exposure for locally developed products, services and business concepts connected to the country’s growing visitor economy.

The International District will further strengthen the global dimension of Maldives Expo 2026. Minister Saeed said 15 businesses from China will participate and introduce innovations relevant to small businesses, while another 15 participants from India are also expected to join the exhibition. Organisers are additionally working to secure participation from the United Arab Emirates, further expanding opportunities for international business engagement and knowledge exchange.

The growing scale of the exhibition follows strong public interest in the previous edition. Minister Saeed noted that last year’s event was held over 10 days and attracted more than 80,000 visitors daily. With significantly more exhibitors, products and participating countries this year, he expressed hope that visitor numbers would double.

The expansion of Maldives Expo reflects the Government’s broader focus on supporting small and medium enterprises, encouraging innovation and creating stronger platforms for Maldivian businesses to engage with new markets. With 780 exhibitors, thousands of products and an increasing international presence, Maldives Expo 2026 is expected to provide one of the country’s most extensive platforms for commerce, entrepreneurship and economic collaboration.
