During the discussions, President Dr Muizzu extended warm congratulations to Prime Minister Tarique Rahman and the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) on their victory in the 13th Parliamentary Elections held on 12 February. The President reaffirmed the Government of Maldives’ commitment to working closely with Bangladesh to further enhance the longstanding friendship and constructive partnership that has developed between the two countries over decades of diplomatic engagement. The exchange highlighted the importance both nations place on maintaining close dialogue and fostering collaborative initiatives that contribute to sustainable development and regional stability.
Prime Minister Tarique Rahman expressed appreciation to President Dr Muizzu for attending the oath-taking ceremony, noting the significance of the President’s presence as a gesture of goodwill and continued partnership.
