His Excellency President Dr Mohamed Muizzu was accorded an official welcome today at Schloss Bellevue, the official residence of the President of the Federal Republic of Germany, marking an important moment in the ongoing engagement between the Maldives and Germany. Upon arrival, President Dr Muizzu was warmly received by His Excellency Frank-Walter Steinmeier, President of the Federal Republic of Germany, reflecting the close and respectful ties shared by the two nations.

As part of the official welcome ceremony, the two Presidents inspected the Guard of Honour, underscoring the formal and diplomatic significance of the visit. This was followed by the introduction of members of the Maldivian delegation and senior German officials, highlighting the broad institutional participation accompanying the visit. President Dr Muizzu also signed the Visitors’ Book at Schloss Bellevue and took part in an official photograph with President Steinmeier, symbolising the enduring friendship and mutual respect between the Maldives and Germany.

President Dr Muizzu is currently in Germany on an Official Visit at the invitation of the President of the Federal Republic of Germany. The visit coincides with the commemoration of the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Maldives and Germany, a milestone that reflects six decades of cooperation, dialogue, and partnership across various sectors.
