Four Seasons Resorts Maldives is set to welcome the Year of the Fire Horse with a week-long programme of Lunar New Year celebrations across its two iconic island resorts, Landaa Giraavaru and Kuda Huraa, from 16 to 24 February 2026. Designed to capture the bold and spirited essence of the Fire Horse, which symbolises momentum, confidence and fresh beginnings, the celebrations will blend time-honoured cultural traditions with refined island experiences and family-friendly activities, offering guests an immersive festive journey in one of the world’s most celebrated destinations.
Adding a distinctive culinary dimension to the festivities, the resorts will host an exclusive pop-up by Beijing’s Michelin-recognised Baiweiyuan Dumpling Restaurant, marking the first time this celebrated brand will appear in the Maldives. Operating simultaneously at both islands, the pop-up will present an authentic menu of handmade dumplings and comforting soups, including signature pork and chive dumplings, beef and onion fillings, and vegetarian favourites such as egg and tomato. Cold starters, including soy-braised pork trotter, will further enhance the experience. Prepared fresh to order, the offerings introduce guests to the flavours of Beijing while reflecting the warmth, generosity and sense of sharing that define Lunar New Year traditions.
At Kuda Huraa, the celebrations will unfold in a lively, festival-style atmosphere throughout the week. The programme begins with a Reunion Dinner at Café Huraa, followed by a series of themed dining experiences, outdoor cinema screenings, a Pool Party, and a Pop-Up Asian Market. Guests can look forward to evenings that include a Secret Beach BBQ beneath the stars, a Mediterranean Market at Reef Club, and an Asian Buffet at Café Huraa, alongside daily access to the Baiweiyuan dumpling pop-up. These experiences are designed to create a relaxed yet vibrant environment where families and friends can gather and celebrate together.
Younger guests will be equally engaged through a two-week Fire Horse–inspired festival at the Kuda Mas Kids Club. Activities such as lantern painting, snorkelling adventures, arts and crafts, dumpling making, tie-dye workshops, karaoke evenings and beach games are curated to encourage creativity, confidence and joyful discovery, ensuring that children experience the spirit of the season in a meaningful and memorable way.
Landaa Giraavaru will welcome the Lunar New Year with an elegant poolside celebration on 16 February from 7.00pm to 10.30pm. The evening will feature a Dragon Dance performance, live DJ entertainment and a lantern-lit ambience around the main pool. A Yu Sheng prosperity toss will symbolise abundance and good fortune, while live cooking stations will showcase celebratory flavours prepared by the resort’s culinary team. Culture-inspired welcome drinks and access to the Baiweiyuan dumpling pop-up throughout the week will further enrich the festivities.
Across both islands, the Lunar New Year celebrations at Four Seasons Resorts Maldives are thoughtfully curated to bring people together in a spirit of prosperity, connection and shared joy. By combining authentic cultural elements, exceptional cuisine and the natural beauty of the Maldives, the resorts offer global travellers an inspiring way to welcome the Year of the Fire Horse through traditions that honour luck, abundance and meaningful togetherness.
