A new chapter in destination branding has taken shape with the introduction of a refreshed corporate logo for Visit Maldives Corporation (VMC), the national tourism board responsible for promoting the Maldives as a premier travel destination. This redesigned visual identity draws deeply from the natural heritage of the archipelago, featuring carefully crafted elements inspired by the vibrant skies, serene seas, and tropical landscapes of the country. The new emblem artistically reflects iconic Maldivian birds, aquatic life, and native flora, aligning the brand more closely with the Maldives’ unique ecological and cultural identity.

The new logo is part of a broader rebranding effort following the formal renaming of the Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) to Visit Maldives Corporation Limited. This change was officially announced by President Dr Mohamed Muizzu on 14 July 2025, marking a strategic shift in how the Maldives presents itself to the world. It underscores the nation’s ambition to strengthen its global tourism footprint while maintaining a visual identity that resonates with authenticity and nature.

VMC’s updated brand identity not only includes the corporate logo but also enhances the well-known ‘Visit Maldives’ destination brand. In early July 2025, refinements were introduced to this internationally recognised symbol, subtle adjustments to colour tones and a refined logotype were made to improve visibility and clarity, especially in high-impact areas such as outdoor billboards, airport displays, and digital advertising campaigns. The adjustments were made with precision to retain the essence of the existing logo while ensuring consistency and increased recognition across diverse platforms.

The newly introduced logo comes in multiple adaptable formats, including monochrome and vector variations. This versatility ensures the identity remains effective across all branding touchpoints, from digital and print media to merchandise and promotional materials used during international travel fairs and tourism expos.

The official rollout of the updated corporate logo is scheduled for 31 August 2025. From that date forward, all communications, digital platforms, and official publications issued by Visit Maldives Corporation will reflect the new design. The introduction of the refreshed logo reinforces VMC’s commitment to evolving with the times while staying rooted in the Maldivian identity, capturing the essence of paradise for millions of visitors around the world.
