With 217,391 visitors in February 2024—the most in a single month and a 22% rise over the same time previous year—the Maldives achieved a new record.
An infographic published by Maldives Immigration stated that 7,496 arrivals were made on average per day each month. There were 10,214 arrivals at the highest and 5,343 at the minimum.
China accounted for 33,897 of all tourist arrivals in February, making it the largest source market. With 20,633 arrivals, the United Kingdom came in second, followed by Russia with 19,734.
As of March 10, 2024, 466,273 visitors have been reported to have visited the Maldives. This represents a significant increase of 61,375 visitors, or 15.2% more than at the same time last year, when there were 404,898 visitors.
