Three globally celebrated football figures are arriving in the Maldives on 5 October 2025 as part of an exciting collaboration between Visit Maldives Corporation and the Secretariat of Aa. Bodufolhudhoo Council. The initiative, supported by Visit Maldives’ local ambassador Naushad, aims to strengthen the Maldives’ growing reputation as a vibrant destination for sports and cultural tourism.

The visiting guests include Radheya Maraca, widely known as one of the most talented football freestylers in the world; Ben Black, a top football content creator and influencer from the United Kingdom; and Sabreesh, a renowned futsal athlete and street footballer from India. Their presence in the Maldives signals a unique fusion of tourism and sport designed to create meaningful experiences for both visitors and local communities.

The four-day itinerary is centered on the island of Bodufolhudhoo, where the influencers will engage in a variety of football-related activities. These include interactive futsal matches, captivating freestyle skill performances, and dedicated training sessions designed specifically for children. These sessions offer aspiring young players the rare opportunity to learn directly from international professionals and gain exposure to advanced techniques and training philosophies.

A key highlight of the visit is the open engagement with the public. Football fans and residents will have the opportunity to meet the guests, take photographs, and participate in football-themed experiences. The program is designed not only to entertain but also to foster cultural exchange between local talent and international figures.

In addition to grassroots-level activities, the influencers are scheduled to meet with local Maldivian futsal players. These interactions aim to celebrate the Maldives’ deep-rooted enthusiasm for the sport and to explore future opportunities for collaboration, training, and international exposure for Maldivian athletes.

This initiative also strategically aligns with Visit Maldives Corporation’s broader objectives of diversifying the tourism product of the country. Traditionally known for its luxury resort experiences and pristine beaches, the Maldives is steadily expanding its tourism landscape to include niche areas such as sports, wellness, cultural, and experiential travel.

Resorts and guesthouses near Bodufolhudhoo are expected to see a surge in interest from both local and international visitors during the program. Several properties are supporting the initiative by offering exclusive stay-and-experience packages that combine luxury accommodation with front-row access to the football showcases. This innovative blend of leisure and sporting engagement is an example of how the Maldives is curating new experiences to attract a wider demographic of travelers, including families, sports enthusiasts, and younger audiences.

Through this visit, Visit Maldives Corporation underscores its commitment to fostering sustainable tourism that strengthens community engagement and brings global influencers into direct contact with the local way of life. By integrating sports into its tourism strategy, the Maldives continues to offer visitors more than just a destination — it offers a story, a connection, and memories that go beyond the shoreline.
