The initiative is tailored to elevate the Maldives’ profile in the luxury yachting sector by positioning the island nation as a key destination on the international superyacht route.
This high-impact campaign strategically targets high-net-worth individuals who travel aboard private and chartered superyachts. It promotes the Maldives as a prime destination offering unspoiled natural beauty, rich marine biodiversity, and unique, bespoke experiences tailored for yacht owners, charterers, brokers, and captains. The campaign aligns the Maldives with the world’s elite yachting destinations, drawing connections between the prestige of Monaco and the rising prominence of Asian yachting corridors. This blend of global influence and regional accessibility positions the Maldives as a luxurious stop on the modern maritime Spice Route.
The campaign’s global presence was solidified through active participation in the Monaco Yacht Show one of the most esteemed events in the superyacht industry. Here, the Maldives delegation engaged in high-level meetings with global stakeholders, enhancing the country’s exposure within the exclusive yachting community. The campaign is also reaching over 6,000 yachting professionals through direct marketing strategies and enjoys extensive visibility in premium yachting and lifestyle media.
To further amplify visibility, a dedicated Maldives showcase is now featured on the Spice Route platform, and the campaign includes the launch of a specially produced brochure alongside vibrant digital and social media outreach efforts. Influencer partnerships and targeted coverage are being employed to create a compelling narrative around the Maldives as the Indian Ocean’s ultimate luxury yachting destination.
Ibrahim Shiuree, CEO and Managing Director of Visit Maldives Corporation, noted the strategic importance of the campaign. “Through this campaign, we are positioning the Maldives as the Indian Ocean’s leading luxury superyacht destination. By strengthening our presence at global yachting events and engaging directly with key decision-makers, we aim to capture a currently underserved market and reinforce the Maldives as the ultimate stop for high-net-worth travellers,” he stated.

As of 22 September 2025, the Maldives has already welcomed over 1.59 million international arrivals, underscoring its consistent appeal to global travellers. The expansion into the luxury yacht tourism segment is expected to further strengthen the country’s reputation, especially among affluent visitor groups.
