At the Food and Hospitality Asia Maldives Global Culinary Challenge 2025 (FHAM 2025), Canareef Resort Maldives celebrated an extraordinary achievement, securing ten prestigious awards while also marking the debut of its housekeeping team in this highly respected regional competition.

The three-day culinary and hospitality showcase, held from September 7th to 9th in Malé, drew together elite chefs and hospitality professionals from across the region. Representing Canareef, seven chefs competed in multiple categories, bringing creativity and technical precision to the forefront. Adding to the excitement, the housekeeping team participated for the very first time in the honeymoon bed decoration category, further underlining the resort’s drive to showcase excellence in every aspect of guest service.

Among the standout performers, chef Rachindi Anjana won Gold in the demanding Poultry Hot Cooking category, a feat that highlighted his mastery and innovation. Ashan Chanika displayed remarkable versatility by winning a Silver medal in Vegetable Carving and three Bronze medals across Appetizers, Lamb Hot Cooking, and Beef Hot Cooking. Contributions from Ashok with three Bronze medals, along with Arvind Singh and Sanity Lahiru, each securing one Bronze medal, reflected the deep pool of culinary talent nurtured at Canareef.

The resort’s awards spanned a broad range of categories, including:

  • Gold: Poultry Hot Cooking

  • Silver: Vegetable Carving

  • Bronze: Appetizers Hot or Cold (2), Lamb Hot Cooking, Beef Hot Cooking (2), Artistic Pastry Showpieces, Three Course Meals, and Revello Creative Dessert

This impressive collection of accolades demonstrates the resort’s holistic approach to hospitality, where culinary artistry meets world-class service.

General Manager Mohamed Jaish Ibrahim applauded the achievement, remarking on the dedication and teamwork of the culinary team: “Your passion and creativity have paid off, making the entire Canareef family proud.” Echoing this pride, Assistant General Manager Deepak Kannan congratulated both the culinary and housekeeping teams, noting the significance of housekeeping’s debut participation and affirming that this is only the beginning of more success to come.
