Hospitality leaders in the Maldives gathered in Malé last night for a special cocktail reception hosted by three InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) properties, marking their participation in IHG’s Global Customer Appreciation Week 2025.
Running from 8–14 September under the theme “On the Move. Leading the Way, Together,” the worldwide initiative reflects IHG’s commitment to strengthening bonds with customers, partners, and guests. In the Maldives, the joint reception brought together the teams from InterContinental Maldives, Noku Maldives, and Holiday Inn Resort Kandooma Maldives for a collaborative celebration.
Mizan Saeed, Director of Sales – Maldives for the three resorts, emphasized the value of the event in fostering relationships within the tourism sector. “This was the first time Noku, InterContinental, and Kandooma came together to host a joint reception for travel agents, destination management companies, tour operators, and media. We recognised significant overlap in our business partners, and by combining our efforts, we were able to deliver one impactful event,” he said.
The evening provided an opportunity to personally thank travel professionals and industry partners who play a vital role in positioning the Maldives as one of the world’s most sought-after holiday destinations. Guests enjoyed an engaging atmosphere that blended appreciation with professional networking, offering a platform to exchange feedback, ideas, and insights about future collaborations.
Speaking on behalf of Holiday Inn Resort Kandooma Maldives, General Manager Mark Eletr highlighted the importance of the occasion. “Customer Appreciation Week is an important opportunity to acknowledge the partnerships that sustain our industry. It also allows us to gather feedback and plan for the future. By consolidating our networks, we created a single, memorable event where we could collectively extend our thanks,” he noted.
Global Customer Appreciation Week is celebrated across IHG Hotels & Resorts worldwide, featuring a variety of activities to engage with guests, industry stakeholders, and media partners. The initiative not only reinforces IHG’s long-standing dedication to collaboration but also reflects the Maldives’ pivotal role in global tourism.
By hosting this event in Malé, IHG underscored the Maldives’ reputation as more than just a luxury destination—it is also a thriving hub for international travel partnerships. As tourism continues to drive the Maldivian economy, events like these demonstrate the strong connections between local hospitality providers and global networks, ensuring visitors from around the world enjoy seamless, memorable travel experiences in the islands.
