He stressed that climate action and sustainable development must remain defining priorities for global organisations, noting that Small Island Developing States must be given a greater role in shaping international decision-making.
President Muizzu also highlighted the transformative “Maldives 2.0” digitalisation agenda, describing it as a blueprint for modernising governance, enhancing service delivery, and fostering economic innovation. He underscored the role of digitalisation in diversifying the economy and preparing the Maldives for the future of global trade and tourism.
The President used the platform to reaffirm the Maldives’ unwavering support for the Palestinian people, calling on the international community to unite in advocating for their rights. His statement reflected the Maldives’ principled stance on justice and human rights within multilateral forums.
The “SCO Plus” Meeting provided an inclusive forum for states and organisations to deliberate on pressing challenges such as global security, economic integration, and sustainable governance. President Muizzu’s participation not only elevated the Maldives’ international presence but also demonstrated the nation’s proactive engagement on global issues that have direct relevance to its development and survival.
