As part of the high-level engagements during the state visit of Indian Prime Minister His Excellency Shri Narendra Modi to the Maldives, Vice President of the Republic of Maldives, His Excellency Uz Hussain Mohamed Latheef, paid a courtesy call on the visiting leader. Prime Minister Modi’s state visit marks a key moment in the 60th anniversary of formal diplomatic relations between the Maldives and India. His engagements in Malé have included official talks with President Dr Mohamed Muizzu, the signing of multiple development agreements, and participation in national celebrations commemorating six decades of diplomatic cooperation.
