In a step toward expanding international exposure for the country’s vibrant startup ecosystem, the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade is inviting Maldivian businesses to participate in the AsiaBerlin Summit 2025, one of Europe’s leading international platforms for innovation and entrepreneurship. Scheduled to take place in Berlin, Germany, from 24 to 28 November, this year’s summit offers local enterprises the chance to network with global investors, policymakers, and industry leaders from across the world.
The announcement follows communication from the German government through the Maldives Embassy in Berlin, confirming the invitation for Maldivian businesses to join the event. Organized under the theme “Connecting Startup Ecosystems for Diversity and Innovation,” the AsiaBerlin Summit brings together thought leaders and entrepreneurs to foster collaboration in key sectors such as health, technology, financial technology (fintech), green technology (greentech), mobility, and the creative economy.
Participation in the summit opens doors for Maldivian startups and companies to showcase their products, services, and technological innovations on an international stage. The event features a comprehensive lineup of activities designed to promote cross-border partnerships, including exclusive roundtable discussions, business matchmaking sessions, panel dialogues, and opportunities to co-host thematic forums. There is also a unique chance for countries to highlight their cultural identity by hosting culinary showcases, providing participants with a platform to offer traditional Maldivian cuisine and share the nation’s rich heritage with a global audience.
While businesses are required to cover their own travel expenses, the Maldives Embassy in Berlin will provide on-ground support and assistance to facilitate their engagement and maximize exposure during the summit. The Ministry emphasizes that the AsiaBerlin Summit is an important gateway for Maldivian enterprises aiming to position themselves in international markets and attract foreign partnerships, investments, and joint ventures.
With Germany recognized as Europe’s largest economy and a hub for innovation and sustainable development, Berlin serves as a strategic venue for startups seeking to scale globally. The AsiaBerlin Summit, backed by the Berlin Senate Department for Economics, Energy, and Public Enterprises, draws participants from across Asia and Europe and is known for its focus on fostering bilateral collaboration and inclusive entrepreneurship.
The Ministry encourages interested Maldivian businesses to seize this opportunity to explore new commercial pathways, build international networks, and contribute to the growing global visibility of Maldives’ entrepreneurial landscape. For further details and assistance, businesses are advised to coordinate directly with the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade or the Maldives Embassy in Berlin.
