A vibrant new attraction awaits visitors to this year’s Maldives Food Carnival as the Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC/Visit Maldives) introduces the Liverpool FC Fan Zone, a unique initiative blending international football fervor with local cultural celebrations. Scheduled to run from 25th to 28th June 2025, the Fan Zone will be hosted within the Carnival Grounds as a major feature of one of the country’s most anticipated annual public events.
This engaging addition is a direct result of MMPRC’s landmark partnership with Liverpool Football Club, under which the Maldives holds the title of Official Tourism Destination Partner for the globally renowned Premier League team. It is the first collaboration of its kind in the Maldives’ tourism promotion history, designed to connect the Maldives brand with one of the most passionate sports communities in the world.
The Maldives Food Carnival, which attracted over 30,000 visitors in 2024 and featured more than 68 exhibitors, has rapidly grown into a premier community event showcasing the nation’s rich culinary scene, creative talents, and vibrant local spirit. The 2025 edition builds upon this success with expanded zones, including a Food Arena, Food Expo, Food Street, Arts & Crafts Market, and an Activity Zone, offering something for every age and interest.
At the centre of this year’s excitement is the Liverpool FC Fan Zone, a dynamic football-themed area designed to draw both Maldivians and tourists into an immersive Liverpool experience. Developed in close collaboration with Liverpool FC, the Fan Zone is a family-friendly attraction that celebrates the global appeal of football while enhancing the Maldives’ brand visibility on the international stage.

Adding a special touch to the festivities, Liverpool FC legend Dirk Kuyt will make a guest appearance at the Fan Zone on 26th June, offering fans a rare opportunity to meet the former Dutch international and Premier League star. Moreover, attendees will have a chance to win official Liverpool FC jerseys, making the experience even more memorable for supporters of the club.
