In celebration of its 54th anniversary, Hard Rock Cafe has launched the highly anticipated World Burger Tour—a global culinary competition that invites chefs from Hard Rock Cafes around the world to craft locally inspired gourmet burgers. As part of this international showcase, Hard Rock Cafe Maldives is proudly featuring its own tropical contender: the Island Spiced Coconut & Curry Burger, available exclusively from June 14 to August 5 at the cafe located in The Marina at CROSSROADS Maldives.

The burger, a creative culinary tribute to Maldivian flavors, was developed by Chef Nikhil Gopinathan and infuses traditional island spices with an international gourmet flair. The burger features two smashed and stacked beef patties cooked to medium-well, layered with homemade curry mayo, arugula, coconut flakes, cucumber, tomato, and provolone cheese. It is finished with chimichurri cheese sauce and topped with a unique crunchy mix of shredded fried potato seasoned with homemade island curry powder. The result is a bold, flavorful experience that reflects the rich culinary heritage of the Maldives.

This year’s World Burger Tour is particularly special, as it includes the participation of chef, content creator, and brand partner Olivia Tiedemann, who has joined the competition as both mentor and judge. Tiedemann has collaborated with chefs across the Hard Rock network, helping them refine their concepts by sharing her culinary expertise and insights into burger innovation.

“Working with these talented chefs from around the world has been incredibly fun. Each one brought such passion and creativity to their recipes, and I’m amazed by how they’ve transformed classic burger concepts with their unique local influences and personal stories,” said Tiedemann.

Throughout the campaign, guests are encouraged to sample the limited-time burger creations at participating Hard Rock Cafe locations and share their favorites on social media. Combined with sales performance and Tiedemann’s feedback, these public responses will determine the top five burgers. The finalists will be announced later this summer and will be offered at Hard Rock Cafe locations globally for a limited period, culminating in the selection of the winning burger recipe.

The World Burger Tour coincides with Hard Rock International’s Founders’ Day on June 14, marking 54 years since the opening of the very first Hard Rock Cafe in London in 1971. What began as a single restaurant has grown into a globally recognized brand with over 300 locations across 70 countries, including cafes, hotels, resorts, and casinos.
