Visitors to the Maldives can now experience a new level of digital convenience with the launch of Samsung eSIM services for smartwatches, introduced by Ooredoo Maldives. This marks the first time such a service has been made available in the country for Samsung Watch users, offering seamless connectivity and enhanced freedom for travelers exploring the islands.
With this service, users of the Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra 7 LTE, compatible in the Maldives region, can make voice calls, send messages, stream music, and access a variety of apps directly from their wrist, without needing to carry a phone. Whether you’re enjoying a boat ride through crystal-clear waters or relaxing on a secluded beach, staying in touch and accessing online services has never been easier.
Ooredoo Maldives is offering this service to both prepaid and postpaid customers free of charge for the first three months. Following the promotional period, the service will be priced at MVR 199 per month, which is approximately USD 13. This makes it an affordable and practical solution for tourists seeking a hassle-free way to remain connected during their holiday.
Speaking on the occasion, Ooredoo Maldives CEO and Managing Director Khalid Al Hamadi highlighted the company’s dedication to bringing advanced technologies to the country. He noted that offering this service is part of Ooredoo’s broader commitment to enhancing the digital lifestyle of residents and visitors alike.
Sangwa Song, Managing Director for Samsung Sri Lanka and Maldives, emphasized Samsung’s vision of developing smart wearable technology that enriches lives through convenience, accessibility, and innovation.
With the launch of Samsung Wearables eSIM services, Ooredoo Maldives continues to position itself at the forefront of telecommunications innovation, offering tourists the added comfort of being connected, even while enjoying the natural beauty of the Maldives.
