A major tourism outreach event showcasing the Maldives has concluded with remarkable success as Tatabye Tours wrapped up a four-city roadshow across South India. Held from May 12 to 16, 2025, the event brought the allure of the Maldives directly to over 450 top travel agents and industry professionals across Kochi, Coimbatore, Hyderabad, and Bengaluru, significantly boosting trade engagement and awareness of the island nation’s premium travel experiences.
Tatabye Maldives, also known as Tatabye Tours, is a Destination Management Company (DMC) with a focus on high-end tropical escapes. Endorsed by the Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) / Visit Maldives, the roadshow was one of the most extensive promotional campaigns in India led by a Maldivian DMC. The series of events served as a dynamic B2B platform connecting travel agents with 22 of the Maldives’ leading resort brands, highlighting offerings in leisure travel, luxury stays, destination weddings, and the MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) segment.
The roadshow allowed Indian travel agents to engage in direct discussions with resort representatives, explore tailored packages, and discover new opportunities for collaboration. Among the participating resorts were esteemed names such as Furaveri, Medhufushi, Le Meridien, Adaaran Select Huduranfushi, Universal Resorts, Centara Ras Fushi, Dusit, and dusitD2. Lucky draws held in each city added an element of excitement, with luxurious two-night full-board stays, including transfers by seaplane or speedboat, awarded to travel agents.
The Bengaluru showcase served as the grand finale and attracted the highest attendance. The closing ceremony featured special recognition awards for key partners, along with a final round of prize giveaways, reinforcing the celebratory tone of the roadshow’s success.
Roshan Jain, Founder and Director of Sales and Marketing at Tatabye Tours, reflected on the event’s impact: “The scale of participation and the enthusiasm from the travel trade community have exceeded our expectations. This was the first time such an extensive lineup of Maldivian resorts was showcased in South India. It has truly opened new doors for collaboration, especially in tier 1 cities.” He added that future roadshows will target West and North Indian markets, with a focus on tier 2 and 3 cities, where growth potential is considered especially promising.
Since its founding in 2014, Tatabye Tours has evolved from a start-up into a trusted DMC specializing in premium destinations including the Maldives, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, and Mauritius. Its stronghold in the South Indian market has been bolstered by direct contracts with over 149 Maldivian resorts, a unique advantage that eliminates intermediary costs and improves margins for Indian travel agents.
India is currently the sixth-largest source market for tourists visiting the Maldives. Events like this roadshow play a critical role in strengthening business-to-business ties and ensuring that the Maldives remains a top-of-mind destination for Indian travelers. Tatabye’s approach aligns with broader goals to make travel to the Maldives more accessible, rewarding, and seamless for partners throughout the subcontinent.
Looking ahead, Tatabye Maldives aims to deepen its footprint across India and further establish itself as the preferred Maldives-focused DMC, offering unmatched value and connectivity for its growing network of travel professionals.
