Sheikh Dr. Salah Al-Budair, the esteemed Imam and Khateeb of Al-Masjid Al-Nabawi in Madinah, met with prominent religious scholars, Daa’ees, and Hafiz students of the Maldives during a series of engagements held as part of his ongoing official visit to the Maldives. The events took place at the King Salman Mosque Auditorium, attracting widespread participation from across the Islamic education community.

On Wednesday, 23rd April 2025, Sheikh Dr. Al-Budair met with 286 current Hafiz students from the National Centre for the Holy Quran (NCHQ) and the ILM Institute for Islamic Studies. Speaking directly to the students, he offered heartfelt advice on the importance of memorizing the Quran with sincerity and discipline. He outlined key principles for Hafiz students to uphold, such as maintaining strong character, embodying the teachings of the Quran in daily life, and dedicating themselves to ongoing learning and humility. The meeting were attended by the Minister of Islamic Affairs, Dr. Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed, along with senior officials and teachers from NCHQ.
Later that same day, Sheikh Dr. Al-Budair met with Maldivian scholars, Daa’ees, and Hafiz students at the King Salman Mosque Auditorium. The gathering brought together 52 of the country’s prominent scholars and Daa’ees, offering a unique opportunity for direct interaction and guidance from one of the Islamic world’s most revered figures. Addressing the scholars, Sheikh Dr. Al-Budair emphasized the immense responsibility carried by religious leaders in shaping society through knowledge, wisdom, and exemplary character. He urged them to continue their dedication to Islamic education and public service, highlighting the importance of unity, scholarship, and adherence to authentic teachings.

In addition to his educational engagements, Sheikh Dr. Al-Budair also led the Maghrib and Isha prayers at the King Salman Mosque on the same evening, marking his first participation in congregational prayers during his visit to the Maldives. The event attracted a large congregation of worshippers, reflecting the deep respect and admiration the Maldivian public holds for the Imam of the Prophet’s Mosque.

Continuing his public engagements, on Thursday, 24th April 2025, Sheikh Dr. Al-Budair led the Isha prayer at Masjid Sultan Mohamed Thakurufanul Auzam, one of the Maldives’ most prominent mosques. Worshippers from across Malé gathered to join the prayer, further underscoring the strong spiritual connection between the visiting Imam and the Maldivian people. His leadership in prayer at both of these iconic mosques was a spiritually uplifting experience for many and marked key highlights of his visit.
