His Excellency Matrek bin Abdullah Al-Ajalin Al-Dosari, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the Republic of Maldives, paid a farewell courtesy call on President Dr Mohamed Muizzu on Tuesday morning, April 8, 2025, at the President’s Office. The meeting marked the conclusion of Ambassador Al-Dosari’s diplomatic tenure in the Maldives and served as a reflection of the enduring and friendly relations between the two nations.
President Dr Muizzu warmly acknowledged the contributions of Ambassador Al-Dosari in enhancing cooperation and strengthening diplomatic engagement during his term. He expressed appreciation for the Ambassador’s consistent efforts in fostering bilateral collaboration and facilitating key diplomatic initiatives, noting that the relationship between the Maldives and Saudi Arabia had seen notable progress in recent years.
The President highlighted the close and cordial exchanges between the two countries under the Ambassador’s watch, particularly in areas of religious cooperation, development support, and mutual diplomatic engagement. Dr Muizzu also took a moment to recall the hospitality extended by the Saudi leadership during his Umrah pilgrimage in May 2024, describing it as a testament to the close bonds shared by the two nations.
In his remarks, President Muizzu reiterated the Maldives’ commitment to working in close partnership with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. He emphasized his administration’s intention to build on the strong foundation established and further deepen ties in the months ahead, particularly in areas of economic development, Islamic affairs, and tourism cooperation.
As the meeting concluded, both President Muizzu and Ambassador Al-Dosari reaffirmed the shared commitment of their governments to maintain and enhance the friendly and longstanding partnership between the Maldives and Saudi Arabia. The President extended his best wishes to Ambassador Al-Dosari in his future diplomatic assignments, thanking him for his service and dedication to strengthening Maldives–Saudi Arabia relations.
