In a gesture of appreciation for enduring diplomatic friendship, the Government of Maldives has formally recognized the contributions of the outgoing Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the Maldives, His Excellency Matrek Al-Ajalin Aldosari, for his committed service in fostering bilateral relations during his tenure.
On Sunday, April 6, 2025,The Ambassador of Saudi Arabia to the Maldives, H.E Matrek Al-Ajalin Aldosari, paid a farewell call on the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Maldives, Dr. Abdulla Khaleel at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. During the meeting, Minister Khaleel conveyed the Maldivian government’s sincere gratitude for the Ambassador’s instrumental role in promoting mutual understanding and advancing cooperation between the two nations.
Minister Khaleel highlighted the progress made in areas of shared interest under the Ambassador’s leadership, noting that the relationship between the Maldives and Saudi Arabia had grown stronger, underpinned by close coordination in both bilateral and multilateral platforms. He also acknowledged the Ambassador’s continued efforts to deepen collaboration across sectors including Islamic affairs, trade, and development, while emphasizing the warmth and trust that have consistently defined the relations between the two countries.
Ambassador Aldosari, in response, expressed his heartfelt appreciation to the Government and people of Maldives for the exceptional hospitality and support extended to him throughout his diplomatic service. He reaffirmed the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s unwavering commitment to further strengthening the longstanding friendship with the Maldives, grounded in shared values and a spirit of cooperation.
As part of the exchange, Minister Khaleel also conveyed his confidence that the Maldives-Saudi Arabia partnership will continue to grow under the guidance of the incoming Ambassador. He assured the Government of Maldives’ full support to the new envoy in continuing the collaborative work set in motion during Ambassador Aldosari’s term.
