President Dr Muizzu Meets with Lord Mayor of Leeds and Mayor of West Yorkshire to Strengthen Development Cooperation

As part of his official visit to the United Kingdom, President Dr Mohamed Muizzu held a meeting with Councillor Abigail Marshall Katung, the Lord Mayor of Leeds, and Tracy Brabin, the Mayor of West Yorkshire. The high-level discussions focused on deepening collaboration across key development sectors and further strengthening ties between the Maldives and the region of West Yorkshire.

President Dr Muizzu provided an overview of his administration’s national development priorities, with a particular focus on the digitalisation of public services, infrastructure improvement, and sustainable economic growth. He also highlighted the Maldives’ goals in modernising transport networks, including the reconstruction of road infrastructure to better serve local communities and support the country’s broader development objectives.
