The Maldives is representing in the international basketball arena, as both the men’s and women’s national teams take part in the 2025 FIBA 3×3 Asia Cup Qualifiers currently underway in Singapore. On the men’s side, the Maldives is represented by Khuvailid Ali, Ismail Vildhan Yoosuf, Abdulla Amzar Mohamed, and Mafaz Mohamed. Drawn in Group C with Iran, Kazakhstan, and Papua New Guinea, the team began their qualifying journey with a match against Iran. Although the game ended in a 9-21 defeat, Mafaz stood out with six points, demonstrating agility and shooting precision. Khuvailid added two points, and Vildhan secured one. The team will complete their group stage matches today, with hopes of a stronger finish.
