The Maldives Hajj Corporation’s continued efforts to enhance the quality of services for Hajj and Umrah pilgrims have led to remarkable results, according to the corporation’s Managing Director, Mr. Mohamed Shakeel.

Speaking to PSM News from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Shakeel highlighted that the corporation’s focus on improving service delivery has directly contributed to a substantial increase in the number of pilgrims choosing its services. He noted that the number of individuals who performed Umrah through the Hajj Corporation this Ramadan has nearly tripled compared to the previous year, reflecting the growing confidence among Maldivian pilgrims in the corporation’s ability to provide a seamless experience.

Shakeel attributed this increase to the corporation’s dedication to elevating service standards in key areas, including transportation, accommodation, and overall pilgrimage management. He emphasized that the trust gained from pilgrims is a testament to the corporation’s consistent efforts over the past year to refine and enhance its operations.

Among the significant improvements introduced this year is the utilization of modern train services between Mecca and Medina, which has dramatically reduced travel time for pilgrims. Previously, the journey took approximately six hours, but with the introduction of high-speed rail transport, it now takes just two hours, significantly improving convenience and comfort for travelers.

Additionally, the Hajj Corporation’s emphasis on enhancing food and accommodation arrangements has not only benefited its own pilgrims but has also set a new benchmark for other Umrah service providers in the Maldives. Shakeel noted that the corporation’s commitment to service excellence has encouraged other operators to improve their offerings, leading to an overall enhancement in the industry.

This Ramadan, a total of 570 pilgrims are performing Umrah under the care of the Hajj Corporation, marking a significant milestone in the corporation’s efforts to facilitate a smooth and well-organized pilgrimage experience. As demand continues to rise, the corporation remains focused on implementing further improvements to uphold its reputation as a trusted and reliable service provider for Maldivian pilgrims.
