Maldivian, the national airline of the Maldives, is set to enhance regional connectivity with the launch of a new direct flight route between Hanimaadhoo International Airport and Bangalore, India. Scheduled to commence on May 15, 2025, this strategic expansion strengthens travel links between the Maldives’ northern region and one of India’s major metropolitan hubs, providing greater convenience for both leisure and business travelers.

The newly introduced service will operate twice a week, with flights scheduled on Sundays and Thursdays. Designed to align with peak travel demand, the flight timings will offer seamless travel options for passengers, further boosting accessibility for those traveling between the two destinations.

This development builds on Maldivian’s existing international operations from Hanimaadhoo to Trivandrum, reinforcing the airline’s dedication to improving air connectivity for northern Maldives residents and international visitors alike. By introducing this route, Maldivian aims to foster stronger economic and cultural exchanges between the Maldives and India while providing travelers with an efficient and direct connection to Bangalore.

Tickets for the Hanimaadhoo-Bangalore flights will be available for booking starting March 16, 2025, through Maldivian’s official website, mobile app, and ticketing offices. This expansion underscores the airline’s commitment to broadening its global reach, complementing its current international services across key destinations in India, China, and other regions.

As part of its ongoing growth strategy, Maldivian continues to strengthen its fleet, currently operating 25 aircraft, including Airbus A320s, A330-200s, Dash 8s, DHC-6 Twin Otters, and ATRs. The addition of this new route further demonstrates Maldivian’s mission to enhance travel options for passengers while supporting the Maldives’ ever-growing tourism sector. With greater connectivity, the northern Maldives is poised to attract more international visitors, reinforcing its position as a key gateway for tourism and trade in the region.
