Maldives Halal Travel (MHT) participated at the recent Muslim Travel Show 2024, which took place at Excel London on February 24 and 25. Now in its sixth year, this yearly event offers halal travel alternatives, commercial items, eating experiences, and cultural activities to audiences that include both Muslims and non-Muslims.
The London Muslim Shopping Festival, the Halal Dining Show, and the Muslim Travel Show were all a part of a bigger event put on by the British Islamic Trade Association (BITA).
During the two-day event, Dr. Sunny Umar, representing MHT, gave a guest speech. The purpose of the show was to promote vacation destinations and consumer offerings to the global Muslim community by bringing together players from the halal travel industry.
Dr. Sunny discussed the significance of the burgeoning halal travel market to the Maldives’ travel and tourist sector. He emphasized that, although the UK, the nation’s fourth-largest tourist market, attracts a wide variety of tourists, the Maldives, being a country comprised entirely of Muslims, already has infrastructure in place that is well-suited to accommodate those who are concerned about eating halal food. In order to close the gap, Dr. Sunny stressed the importance of positioning the Maldives as a top travel destination for this particular traveler demographic.
A wide range of services are provided by the all-inclusive Maldives Halal Travel platform, which includes halal travel news, promotions, a print and digital magazine, a Muslim-friendly travel rating system, consulting services, help with PR and marketing, conferences, and training sessions. In addition, they provide specialist material, take part in expos and fairs specifically for halal travel, and present the Halal Travel Awards.
