Velaa Private Island will host Velaa Kids Week from 3 to 9 August 2026, presenting a seven-day programme of outdoor adventures, creative games, team challenges and sports sessions designed for young guests holidaying at the luxury Maldivian resort.
Organised in partnership with Sharky & George, a specialist provider of children’s activities and experiences, the programme has been developed to encourage creativity, curiosity, confidence and active participation. Through a carefully scheduled collection of island-based activities, children will be able to explore new interests while enjoying meaningful and entertaining experiences in the resort’s tropical surroundings.
The programme will feature outdoor adventures, interactive games and collaborative challenges that encourage children to communicate, solve problems and work together. Young participants will also have opportunities to discover the island’s natural environment, adding an educational and exploratory element to their stay while helping them build a greater appreciation for the destination.
Alongside individual activities, Velaa Kids Week will create a welcoming environment where children can meet other young guests, form new friendships and strengthen their teamwork and social skills. The programme combines structured sessions with play-based experiences, allowing participants to remain active while enjoying the freedom and excitement of an island holiday.
World champion freestyle footballer Tobias Becs will join this year’s programme, bringing an international sporting dimension to the event. Becs will lead demonstrations and interactive sessions where children can learn freestyle football skills, practise physical coordination and experiment with new techniques in an accessible and engaging format.
His sessions will combine professional demonstrations, guided participation and recreational play, offering young guests the opportunity to experience freestyle football regardless of their previous sporting experience. The activities are expected to promote confidence, concentration, movement and creativity while introducing children to a dynamic form of football performance.
Velaa Kids Week forms part of Velaa Private Island’s wider family programming, reflecting the resort’s focus on creating memorable experiences for guests of different ages. By bringing together specialist children’s entertainment, outdoor exploration and internationally led sports activities, the resort aims to provide families with a holiday programme that is both enjoyable and enriching.
