A delegation from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia paid a courtesy call on His Excellency President Dr Mohamed Muizzu this morning at the President’s Office, further reflecting the close and longstanding ties between the Republic of Maldives and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The visiting delegation was accompanied by His Excellency Yahya Hassan Al-Qahtani, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the Maldives. The meeting took place in the presence of Cabinet Ministers and senior officials of the President’s Office, underscoring the importance both countries continue to place on their bilateral engagement and mutual cooperation.
During the discussions, President Dr Mohamed Muizzu conveyed his sincere appreciation to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, and to His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, for the Kingdom’s enduring generosity and steadfast cooperation towards the socioeconomic development of the Maldives. The President’s remarks reflected the Maldives’ high regard for the valuable support extended by Saudi Arabia over the years and the strong spirit of friendship that continues to guide relations between the two countries.
The Saudi delegation expressed its sincere gratitude to President Dr Mohamed Muizzu and the Government of Maldives for the gracious welcome and warm hospitality accorded to them during the visit. The exchange highlighted the spirit of mutual respect and understanding that characterises Maldives–Saudi Arabia relations and reaffirmed the shared commitment of both nations to maintaining constructive dialogue and strengthening cooperation across areas of common interest.
