The Ministry of Tourism and Civil Aviation, in collaboration with Visit Maldives Corporation (VMC), Maldives Airports Company Limited, Maldivian, and leading tourism industry associations, is undertaking a high-level visit to China from 1 to 11 July 2026 as part of continued efforts to reinforce the Maldives’ position in one of its most important tourism markets. The delegation is led by the Minister of State for Tourism and Civil Aviation, Haris Mohamed, while VMC’s participation is headed by its Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, Ibrahim Shiuree. The programme includes official engagements in Beijing, Shanghai, and Chengdu, reflecting the significance of China in the Maldives’ international tourism strategy and the importance of sustained engagement with key travel trade and aviation stakeholders.
