Dhiraagu has introduced two community-focused Ramadan initiatives designed to encourage charitable giving and strengthen social support networks across the Maldives, enabling customers to conveniently contribute through the DhiraaguPay digital platform. The initiatives, titled Donate a Meal and Donate to a Family, reflect the company’s continued commitment to supporting vulnerable communities while promoting a culture of compassion and shared responsibility during the holy month.
Through the Donate a Meal programme, Dhiraagu has partnered with Mission for Migrant Workers Maldives to assist in distributing meal packs to migrant workers near mosques across the Greater Malé Region. The programme began with Dhiraagu contributing 1,000 meal packs to support the effort, while customers are able to extend the initiative by sponsoring additional meals valued at MVR 60 each through DhiraaguPay. The initiative aims to ensure that migrant workers, many of whom spend Ramadan away from their families, are able to access nutritious meals during Iftar, reinforcing community inclusivity and care throughout the fasting period.
Complementing this effort, Dhiraagu has collaborated with Mom’s Aid to introduce the Donate to a Family initiative, allowing customers to contribute towards the organisation’s Ramadan Aid programme supporting families in need across the Maldives. As part of the initiative, Dhiraagu is providing assistance to 100 families through care baskets containing essential food items, with particular focus on single mothers and households caring for children with disabilities. Each care basket, valued at MVR 1,200, is designed to help ease financial pressures during Ramadan by ensuring families have access to essential provisions for daily meals and Iftar preparations. Customers may contribute any amount towards the programme, making participation accessible to a wide segment of the community.
Donations can be made directly through DhiraaguPay by selecting the preferred cause from the platform’s featured service tabs, with contributions transferred directly to the respective non-governmental organisations overseeing distribution. The integrated digital approach simplifies the donation process while ensuring transparency and efficiency, enabling individuals to support meaningful causes using everyday digital services.
Ramadan remains a period that emphasises generosity, empathy, and collective responsibility, and Dhiraagu’s initiatives are designed to make charitable giving more accessible while strengthening connections between customers and communities nationwide. By combining digital convenience with targeted social support programmes, the company continues to promote inclusive community engagement and encourage acts of kindness that contribute positively to the wellbeing of society during the holy month.
