At the Kuala Lumpur edition of the expo, Fuvahmulah received the Tiger Shark Dive Award, recognising the island’s reputation for consistent, year-round tiger shark encounters and reinforcing its standing among the global diving community.
Fuvahmulah has become widely regarded as one of the few destinations in the world where divers can reliably encounter tiger sharks close to shore throughout the year. This rare natural advantage has positioned the island as a high-demand destination for experienced divers, underwater photographers and marine life enthusiasts seeking unique and responsible wildlife encounters.
