Techverin Private Limited has introduced the Customs Digital Assistant, an AI-powered platform designed to automate trade documentation and cut import clearance times by as much as 80 percent. The Maldivian software company said the solution is built to streamline the most time-consuming steps in preparing customs declarations, offering importers, logistics firms and procurement teams a faster, more reliable way to handle documentation that is critical for the smooth flow of goods into the country.
According to Techverin, the platform is capable of transforming complex supplier documents into Single Administrative Document (SAD) files within minutes. By automating data extraction from invoices and packing lists and applying smart tariff classification, the Customs Digital Assistant assigns accurate tariff codes and reduces the risk of delays, queries and compliance issues. This is particularly significant for businesses that rely heavily on imported goods, such as hotels, resorts, retailers and construction companies, where every delay at the border can translate into added costs, operational disruption and guest dissatisfaction.
The company said the tool is designed to support both high-volume users and smaller businesses that may not have in-house customs expertise. Automated data extraction helps minimise manual entry errors, while the smart tariff classification engine supports users in selecting the most appropriate tariff codes based on the information provided in their documents. This can improve consistency in declarations and support better compliance with customs requirements, giving businesses greater confidence when planning stock levels, seasonal imports and supply timelines.
Ahmed, Chief Operating Officer of Techverin, said the launch of the Customs Digital Assistant reflects the company’s broader vision for the role of technology in the Maldivian economy. He noted that Techverin is focused on building digital solutions that directly improve productivity for Maldivian businesses and organisations. By reducing repetitive manual work and simplifying complex processes, the company aims to free up teams to focus on higher-value tasks such as planning, analysis and customer service.
The Customs Digital Assistant is offered on a pay-per-use model, priced at MVR 99 for each processed document. Techverin highlighted that this pricing structure allows companies of different sizes to adopt the platform without long-term commitments or large upfront investment, making advanced automation accessible to both smaller traders and larger corporate importers. As a launch promotion, the first ten companies to register and verify their profiles will receive 500 credits, enabling them to process up to five files at no cost. This introductory offer is intended to allow businesses to test the platform with real documentation and assess the impact on their customs processing workflow.
Based in the Maldives, Techverin develops software solutions that help organisations digitise manual processes and improve operational efficiency. The company’s work is aligned with the growing demand for smarter, technology-driven tools across key sectors of the Maldivian economy, including tourism, trade and services. With the launch of the Customs Digital Assistant, Techverin aims to support a more efficient and predictable import process, helping businesses better manage their supply chains and maintain consistent service levels for their customers.
