Ananea Madivaru Maldives is hosting Chef Frank Fol, founder of We’re Smart World and a recognised figure in plant-based gastronomy, for a dedicated culinary programme designed to strengthen and refine the resort’s plant-based dining concepts. Chef Fol is on the island from 8 to 14 December, working in close collaboration with the culinary brigade to further develop plant-forward offerings across the resort’s diverse dining experiences.

Throughout the week-long engagement, Chef Fol is focusing on integrating contemporary plant-based techniques with ingredients and flavours that are relevant to the Maldivian setting, as well as presentation styles that reflect the aesthetic of the resort. The programme is aligned with evolving guest preferences for balanced and conscious dining, with an emphasis on vegetable-led dishes that deliver both depth of flavour and visual appeal. Working alongside the team in the resort’s kitchens, Chef Fol is contributing his experience in modern vegetable cuisine to refine menus that can cater to vegetarian, vegan and flexitarian guests without compromising on creativity or indulgence.

As part of the visit, an internal tasting menu has been scheduled, bringing together Chef Fol and the resort’s senior leadership. During this dedicated session, Chef Fol will present a curated selection of plant-forward dishes developed during his stay, offering detailed insight into his culinary philosophy and approach to modern vegetable-led cuisine. The tasting is expected to serve as a platform for active dialogue between the chef and the resort’s decision-makers on how best to translate these ideas into elevated guest experiences across the property’s restaurants and bars.

The culinary initiative is being introduced against the backdrop of ananea Madivaru Maldives’ broader positioning as a contemporary twin-island resort in North Ari Atoll, featuring white sandy beaches, a broad central lagoon and a rich house reef accessed directly from the shore. The property extends over two islands connected by an overwater jetty and offers an extensive selection of villas and residences with private pools, designed for couples, families and groups seeking a premium yet relaxed Maldivian escape. Across the resort, guests can explore a wide range of food and beverage options, including multiple restaurants, bars and destination dining experiences that showcase international and regional flavours. Strengthening plant-based gastronomy within this framework is intended to further differentiate the resort’s culinary identity, ensuring that guests who prioritise wellness, sustainability and vegetables as a core element of their diet enjoy the same level of choice and refinement as any other segment.

Following the internal tasting session, ananea Madivaru Maldives will issue a formal press release outlining the key outcomes of the programme, including highlighted dishes, refined concepts and next steps for integrating the new creations into the resort’s menus. Visual assets and supporting media materials will be made available as part of the official communication, showcasing both the collaboration with Chef Fol and the enhanced culinary direction at the resort. This visit forms part of ananea Madivaru Maldives’ wider efforts to evolve its culinary offerings in line with global dining trends, while maintaining a strong focus on quality, creativity and the overall guest experience across its island setting.
