Visit Maldives is proudly representing the Maldives at ILTM Cannes 2025, the world’s most prestigious and influential luxury travel trade show, taking place from 1–4 December 2025 at the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès in Cannes, France. As the pinnacle gathering of global luxury travel, ILTM Cannes connects the world’s top luxury buyers, elite travel designers, and high-end tour operators, offering an ideal stage for destinations that compete at the very top of the market. For the Maldives, this presence underscores its position as the leading ultra-luxury Indian Ocean destination and signals a sharpened focus on high-spending travellers.
This year’s participation is one of Visit Maldives Corporation’s most significant milestones, reflecting a clear strategic pivot towards revenue-driven luxury tourism. Rather than prioritising volume-based arrival numbers, Visit Maldives is concentrating on high-value, high-yield markets for 2026 and beyond. The organisation’s strategy places emphasis on attracting affluent travellers who seek privacy, exclusivity, and bespoke experiences, ensuring that tourism growth is aligned with premium rate performance and greater economic returns for the country.
At ILTM Cannes, the Maldives stand showcases the destination’s signature barefoot luxury – private islands, expansive overwater villas, immersive wellness sanctuaries, world-class culinary offerings, and the renowned warmth of Maldivian hospitality. The pavilion is further strengthened by the presence of leading Maldivian resort brands and hotel operators. Delegates from Lily Hotels, The Nautilus Maldives, Sirru Fen Fushi, The Halcyon Private Isles Maldives, Autograph Collection, and Amilla Maldives are participating alongside Visit Maldives, with many more Maldivian resorts represented independently, creating a powerful collective statement about the breadth and depth of the Maldives’ luxury product.
Lily Hotels brings to Cannes some of the Maldives’ most established all-inclusive luxury experiences. Lily Beach Resort & Spa, a pioneering five-star all-inclusive resort in South Ari Atoll, is renowned for its premium Platinum Plan, which bundles gourmet dining, curated excursions, and a strong selection of premium beverages into a single, hassle-free package for guests. The resort’s combination of a celebrated house reef, overwater and beach villas, and family-friendly facilities illustrates how Maldivian all-inclusive concepts have evolved into highly sophisticated offerings designed for discerning honeymooners, families, and repeat luxury guests.
The Nautilus Maldives, an ultra-luxury private island in the Baa Atoll UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, represents the Maldives’ most personalised end of the luxury spectrum. With just 26 beach and ocean houses, each designed as a private sanctum, The Nautilus is celebrated for its bohemian-chic style and philosophy of unscripted, entirely bespoke stays. Every experience on the island – from dining to wellness to excursions – is tailored to the preferences of each guest, making it a strong showcase for the Maldives’ ability to deliver one-of-a-kind, high-touch itineraries for high-net-worth travellers.
Sirru Fen Fushi, often referred to as the “secret water island”, exemplifies the Maldives’ capacity for dramatic natural settings and design-led luxury. Located in the secluded Shaviyani Atoll, the resort is built around an expansive, shimmering lagoon and offers around 120 high-end villas along the shoreline, perched over the water, or nestled in lush tropical jungle. Each villa features a private pool and generous indoor–outdoor living spaces, catering equally to couples seeking privacy and families looking for space and comfort. Sirru Fen Fushi’s blend of contemporary luxury, spacious villas, and a strong focus on culinary experiences positions it as a compelling option for buyers seeking distinctive properties with strong experiential value.
The Halcyon Private Isles Maldives, Autograph Collection, highlights how global brands are investing in differentiated luxury products across the Maldives. Located across two islands in Gaafu Alifu Atoll, this eco-conscious resort combines design-forward villas, many with private pools, with a wide range of amenities including multiple restaurants and bars, a spa, fitness facilities, and curated recreational experiences. As part of Marriott’s Autograph Collection, The Halcyon marries international brand standards with a distinctly Maldivian sense of place, appealing to luxury travellers who value both recognition through loyalty programmes and the individuality of an independent-style resort.
Amilla Maldives adds to the Maldives’ strong showing at ILTM with its emphasis on space, sustainability, and contemporary island living. Set on a large natural island in Baa Atoll, Amilla offers only 67 villas and residences across roughly 27 hectares, resulting in exceptional privacy and generous outdoor areas for guests. The resort is known for its private pools in every villa, extensive wellness and culinary programmes, and strong sustainability credentials, including recognition for eco-conscious operations and inclusive, accessible hospitality. With its combination of spacious residences, lush untouched jungle, and direct access to the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, Amilla speaks directly to luxury buyers seeking villas suitable for multi-generational families, groups of friends, and long-stay, experience-driven guests.
Beyond resort representation, Visit Maldives is using ILTM Cannes to communicate the success of its 2025 Superyacht Campaign, launched earlier this year to position the Maldives as a premier destination for superyacht itineraries, private charters, and exclusive island-hopping routes. By targeting yacht owners, captains, charterers, and brokers, the campaign focuses on the Maldives’ calm, crystal-clear waters, rich marine biodiversity, and the ease of cruising between secluded atolls and uninhabited islands. The initiative supports the country’s broader ambition to capture a growing share of the global superyacht market and extend visitor spend beyond traditional resort stays.
The destination’s visibility in global luxury media has also intensified. Visit Maldives has built strong collaborations with influential titles such as Condé Nast Traveler, Wanderlust, and Vogue, as well as with leading award and rating bodies including the Michelin Key rating system. Many Maldivian resorts – from iconic private island retreats to innovative new properties – have been featured or recognised on these platforms, creating a steady stream of high-quality exposure that reinforces the Maldives’ reputation for excellence, design innovation, and world-class guest experiences.
Looking ahead, Visit Maldives is developing a dedicated private jet operator strategy for 2026. This initiative will engage premium jet companies, fixed-base operators (FBOs), and concierge travel networks to create seamless access for millionaires and multi-millionaires who prefer to travel via private aviation. The strategy will complement the Superyacht Campaign by ensuring that the Maldives is equally accessible to high-net-worth travellers by air and by sea, supporting the broader national objective of growing tourism revenue through the expansion of the high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth segments.
“The Maldives continues to set the bar for luxury travel,” said Ibrahim Shiuree, CEO and Managing Director of Visit Maldives Corporation. “ILTM Cannes is the ultimate stage for global luxury tourism, and our participation reflects our commitment to strengthening our presence among the world’s most discerning travellers. Our strategy is clear: prioritise revenue and high-value travellers and elevate the Maldives’ position at the very top of the luxury market.” As 2025 draws to a close, Visit Maldives’ concentrated luxury-focused initiatives – from superyacht promotion to resort-led storytelling and upcoming private jet partnerships – are expected to accelerate high-value arrivals and drive robust tourism revenue growth in 2026, further cementing the Maldives as the definitive ultra-luxury destination in the Indian Ocean and beyond.
