Surrounded by the pristine turquoise waters that define Velaa Private Island’s ultra-exclusive setting, the redesigned Lha Velaa Kids Club now features vibrant outdoor zones that encourage creativity, exploration, and imaginative play for young guests. A standout addition is the Velaa Seaplane, positioned as the focal point of the outdoor playground. Equipped with slides and climbing elements, this eye-catching structure invites children into dynamic, adventure-inspired play that mirrors the excitement of arriving in the Maldives by seaplane, while allowing parents to relax knowing their children are engaged in safe, supervised activities within a purpose-built environment.
The new design also introduces a strong sustainability narrative through the concept of “Movement with Purpose,” where children’s physical activity contributes directly to generating energy. At the heart of this concept is the Energy Studio, which provides a screen-free space for young guests to convert their motion into power. This approach not only promotes fitness and wellbeing, but also helps children understand the value of energy and responsible consumption in an interactive, age-appropriate way.
A range of interactive elements has been integrated into the redesigned club to support this philosophy. The Shot Spot Wall Game by Playnetic is fully powered by kinetic energy, transforming children’s movements into an engaging game experience. Kylii Quest, a motion-responsive board game featuring Tokey and friends, challenges children’s speed, reflexes, and coordination, while Listening Tubes introduce simple acoustic play that enhances sound perception and communication skills. Children use Tokey Quest Bands by Kylii Kids to collect activity points as they move through the space, unlocking different layers of discovery and teamwork that encourage collaboration, friendly competition, and repeat engagement.
Recognising that family holidays also require balance and quiet moments, the redesign includes the Relax Haven, a calm retreat where children and families can pause, unwind, and recharge between activities. This tranquil zone complements the more active play spaces and aligns with Velaa Private Island’s broader positioning as a sanctuary where guests of all ages can find tailored experiences, whether through spa and wellness, fine dining, golf, or bespoke marine adventures.
The culinary and creative focus of the resort is reflected in the Cooking and Experiment Pavilion, a new feature that offers hands-on cooking sessions and simple supervised experiments. Here, children are introduced to basic food preparation and practical science in a safe, guided setting, reinforcing key life skills and curiosity.
