Visit Maldives Corporation (VMC) is gearing up to showcase the Maldives as a premier short-haul, year-round tropical escape at the prestigious PATA Travel Mart 2025. This high-profile event is scheduled to take place from 26 to 28 August at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center (QSNCC) in Bangkok, Thailand, and will serve as a vital platform for the Maldives to reinforce its strong presence in the Asia-Pacific travel market.

Renowned as one of the Asia-Pacific region’s leading international travel trade exhibitions, the PATA Travel Mart will bring together over 1,000 delegates from more than 60 global destinations. The 2025 edition promises dynamic engagement opportunities with over 30 scheduled business appointments per participant across two days, a fully booked Knowledge Forum dedicated to tourism innovation and strategy, and several side events and networking functions designed to foster B2B connections.

VMC’s participation underscores its strategic commitment to strengthening the Maldives brand image across regional and global travel trade circuits. By positioning the Maldives as an accessible and aspirational destination for Southeast Asian travellers, the team aims to further expand its reach into niche segments such as family getaways, romantic retreats, adventure holidays, and luxury experiences. The Maldives’ reputation for serene beaches, clear turquoise waters, and exceptional hospitality continues to attract discerning travellers from the region and beyond.

At the Maldives booth, industry stakeholders and potential partners will be able to engage in focused one-on-one business meetings, collect detailed promotional and destination material, participate in a curated trade survey for valuable market insights, and view captivating video showcases of the Maldivian tourism experience. These efforts are designed to elevate awareness, reinforce brand positioning, and encourage both last-minute and forward bookings, especially during the summer and shoulder seasons.

Visitor statistics underline the growing importance of Southeast Asia as a source market. As of July 2025, arrivals from Thailand alone have reached 10,165, while the broader Southeast Asian region has contributed 40,061 visitors to the Maldives. These figures reflect the increasing appeal of the Maldives among regional travellers and affirm the importance of targeted promotions in sustaining momentum.

Participation at the PATA Travel Mart also aligns with VMC’s broader Asia-Pacific outreach strategy, which includes upcoming engagements at ITB Asia 2025 and similar trade fairs aimed at bolstering market presence and securing new business leads. With its enduring allure and enhanced promotional efforts, the Maldives is set to captivate an even wider audience of travel professionals and holidaymakers in the months ahead.
