The statistics released by the Ministry of Tourism has shown that Maldives currently has over 63,000 tourist beds in operation.
As per the statistics released on Thursday, 42,817 beds across 175 resorts, 15,094 beds from 920 guesthouses, 3,208 beds across 163 safari vessels and 1,940 beds from 14 hotels are in operation around 1,272 facilities around the country, totaling the number of tourist beds in operation to 63,059.
While the number of tourist beds have increased, Maldives also recorded a 12.3% increase in the number of tourist arrivals so far this month compared to the same period in 2022.
Maldives received its one millionth tourist arrival of the year on July 16 and is expected to reach its target of 1.9 million arrivals soon.
