The Maldives has won four significant awards in the Indian Ocean category of the World Travel Awards (WTA), according to a statement from the Maldives Marketing & PR Corporation (MMPRC).
On October 15, the World Travel Awards Africa and Indian Ocean Gala Ceremony took place at the renowned Atlantis the Royal in Dubai.
The awards Maldives won in the Indian Ocean Category are:
- Indian Ocean’s Leading Destination 2023
- Indian Ocean’s Leading Beach Destination 2023
- Indian Ocean’s Leading Dive Destination 2023
The Maldives has won each of these three events for the past four years running. Along with these accolades, MMPRC was named “Indian Ocean’s Leading Tourist Board 2023” in acknowledgement of the hard work, dedication, and creative marketing strategies it employed to showcase the Maldives to the world.
The significance of these awards from the travel industry cannot be overstated. It draws attention to the Maldives’ standing as a top travel destination, the country’s commitment to offering visitors experiences that will change their lives, and the MMPRC’s continuous efforts to develop and expand the travel sector in the nation.
The Maldives is a multiple award nominee in the WTA World category. World’s Leading Destination, World’s Leading Beach Destination, World’s Leading Dive Destination, World’s Leading Island Destination, World’s Leading Honeymoon Destination, and World’s Most Romantic Destination are the categories for which these nominations are made. In addition, MMPRC is a nominee for World’s Leading Tourist Board, an award it took home the year before.
