The Maldives is set to welcome an exciting new chapter in international sports tourism as CROSSROADS Maldives hosts the country’s first FIP Silver Women’s Padel Tournament from 5 to 8 November 2026 at SAii Lagoon Maldives.

Organised in collaboration with Asia Padel Events, the four-day tournament will bring together 26 international professional padel players, including eight athletes ranked among the world’s Top 100. Leading the field are Spanish stars Nuria Rodriguez, ranked World No. 24, and Marta Talavan, ranked World No. 36. The international line-up will also include Finland’s No. 1 player Martina Minetti, UK’s No. 3 Rosie Pooley, an Italian national champion, European champions, Malaysia’s No. 1 player and national team representatives from several countries.

The competition will begin with the Round of 16 on 5 November, followed by the quarterfinals on 6 November and semifinals on 7 November, before concluding with the championship final on 8 November. All tournament matches will be open to spectators, allowing resort guests, Maldivian residents, expatriates and international visitors to experience professional padel in a distinctive island setting surrounded by the Indian Ocean.

The event will extend beyond professional competition by providing members of the public with opportunities to train alongside leading international athletes. From 5 to 8 November, Nuria Rodriguez and Marta Talavan will conduct exclusive padel masterclasses featuring four hours of intensive training and match sessions each day. The programme is priced at USD 450 per person for a daily pass or USD 1,200 for the complete four-day experience, including an exclusive dinner with the professional players on 5 November and access to all tournament matches.

Ahead of the main tournament, private coaching and matchplay sessions will also be offered from 2 to 4 November with Finland’s Martina Minetti and the United Kingdom’s Rosie Pooley. One-on-one professional training will be available at USD 200 per hour, while a one-hour matchplay session with two professional players will be priced at USD 400. Participation is open to the public, subject to availability and event arrangements.

The tournament further strengthens CROSSROADS Maldives’ growing profile as one of the country’s most diverse integrated leisure destinations. Located within easy reach of Velana International Airport and Malé, the multi-island development brings together SAii Lagoon Maldives, SO/ Maldives, Hard Rock Hotel Maldives and The Marina at CROSSROADS, creating a destination that combines accommodation, dining, recreation, shopping, entertainment and international events within one connected island environment.

By hosting major international sporting programmes alongside its established hospitality and lifestyle offerings, CROSSROADS Maldives continues to broaden the range of experiences available to visitors while supporting the Maldives’ wider position as a destination capable of hosting internationally recognised sporting and entertainment events. Such initiatives also complement national efforts to diversify tourism experiences and strengthen the country’s appeal to new segments of global travellers.

The FIP Silver Women’s Padel Tournament will take place at SAii Lagoon Maldives from 5 to 8 November, while private training and matchplay sessions will run from 2 to 4 November. Masterclass packages exclude accommodation, transfers and food and beverages other than the stated dinner inclusion. Bookings and enquiries can be made through [email protected].
