His Excellency President Dr Mohamed Muizzu attended a luncheon hosted in his honour by His Excellency Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, as part of the President’s ongoing State Visit to Pakistan.
The luncheon brought together senior representatives from both countries, including Cabinet Ministers and other high-level officials from the Maldivian and Pakistani governments. The gathering provided an important opportunity for the leadership of the two nations to continue discussions on strengthening the close and longstanding relationship between the Maldives and Pakistan.
During the luncheon, President Muizzu and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif exchanged views on further enhancing bilateral relations and explored opportunities to expand cooperation in areas of mutual interest. The President and First Lady are currently undertaking a State Visit to Pakistan from 20 to 22 October 2026 at the invitation of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. The visit represents another important chapter in Maldives–Pakistan relations and provides a platform for both countries to further strengthen diplomatic ties and explore future areas of partnership.
